The one-year Teachers’ Training Programme (Purnashikshaa) at Pūrṇapramati is designed for individuals who wish to teach in integrated learning environments and Gurukula-s. The programme offers a grounded orientation to education that is rooted in lived practice rather than abstract theory.
Participants are introduced to pedagogy, child psychology, language, curriculum design, and civilisational perspectives on education, with a special focus on Indian Knowledge Systems and Bhāratīya dṛṣṭi. The programme invites trainees to reflect on education not merely as a profession, but as a responsibility that shapes individuals and society.
Śāstra study, Saṃskṛta adhyayana, and loka-sāṃskṛtika dṛṣṭi form an integral part of the training. These enable trainees to understand education from a holistic Bhāratīya perspective, where learning is connected with values, way of life, and social responsibility.
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), which emphasises holistic and integrated approaches to teaching and learning, this programme prepares teachers to reconnect education with India’s cultural roots while engaging meaningfully with contemporary classrooms.
Learning within the programme happens through observation, guided practice, reflection, and mentorship. Trainees work closely with experienced adhyāpaka-s, participate in classroom processes, and engage with curricular and co-curricular activities to gain first-hand experience of integrated teaching.
This programme is suited both for practising teachers seeking deeper orientation and for students of education who wish to ground their teaching practice in Indian knowledge traditions. It also serves as a preparatory pathway for those who aspire to teach at Pūrṇapramati or in similar learning spaces committed to integrated and paramparā-rooted education.
