The B.A. (Hons.) Liberal Arts programme is offered in collaboration with the University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), Bengaluru, a pioneering institution committed to trans-disciplinary inquiry and integrated knowledge systems at Pūrṇapramati Bengaluru Campus.
This four-year honours programme is structured to offer a rigorous and experiential education, wih approximately 50% of the curriculum grounded in Śāstric studies and 50% in contemporary disciplines such as humanities, social sciences, mathematics, data sciences, and allied fields. The curriculum is designed in alignment with national higher education frameworks while retaining a distinct civilizational and philosophical orientation.
Students engage deeply with Indian Knowledge Systems alongside modern academic disciplines through seminars, textual study, fieldwork, research projects, and internships. The final year of the programme is dedicated to independent research, capstone projects, and advanced apprenticeship, enabling students to consolidate their learning through sustained inquiry.
A defining feature of the programme is the opportunity to learn directly with renowned scholars, practitioner-academics, and traditional ācāryas, following an apprenticeship model that integrates the guru-śiṣya paramparā with contemporary academic mentoring. Skill-oriented pathways such as translation, psychological counselling, education, data sciences, and applied research are also available as part of the programme.
This programme is particularly suited for students seeking an Indian Knowledge Systems–based degree, without compromising academic rigour, global relevance, or professional preparedness.
Students at Pūrṇapramati may also pursue distance or open learning degree programmes offered by recognised open universities and institutions, based on their academic interests and career goals. Such programmes are chosen through academic consultation with Pūrṇapramati’s faculty and mentors, ensuring coherence with the student’s long-term learning pathway.
Students enrolled in this mode study alongside peers at Pūrṇapramati who are engaged in similar disciplines, benefiting from a shared academic environment, discussions, reading groups, seminars, and access to scholars. Pūrṇapramati actively facilitates connections with subject experts, research institutions, and traditional knowledge centres, thereby enriching the learning experience beyond the formal curriculum of the open university.
Pūrṇapramati also offers a full-time apprenticeship pathway for learners who wish to immerse themselves in sustained study, practice, and service. In this mode, students reside at Pūrṇapramati and engage deeply with Śāstric learning, research assistance, teaching practice, ecological initiatives, and institutional responsibilities.
During the apprenticeship period, learning, mentorship, living arrangements, and academic progression are collectively facilitated by Pūrṇapramati. Where appropriate, formal degree pathways and certifications are also integrated as part of the apprentice’s academic journey. This pathway is ideal for learners seeking long-term formation under guidance, rather than a classroom-centric model of education.
