G. Sulochana,

Class teacher – X  grade

It was May 23rd 2017 . Children were beginning a new academic year. Purnapramati’s first batch of children had arrived to X grade!!Teachers were ready to take up their new responsibility eagerly.  The new academic year had a great start.  Children were excited   that they were in X standard and had to take up the Board exams. Teachers enthusiastically gave assignments as it was part of the assessments for the Board.  Children also produced good work under the guidance of teachers.  After FA1 and FA2 we were trying to assess the strengths and weakness of each student. The SA1 results indicated that the students had not achieved their true potential as they weren’t working hard enough.  We felt that something more must be done to awaken our children and make them aware of the task on hand.  So Cycle tests were introduced where , in each subject a topic was taken up and tests were conducted on a rotating basis.  This would help them to learn each topic thoroughly.  Small incentives like key chains were introduced to make them go deep into the topic and to learn it well.  Children felt motivated and worked and tried to give their best.

Then after FA3 and FA4 we had completed the portions and now we had to ensure that each child was confident to take up the exams.  So now we came up with a new strategy for improving them.  We decided that we would take extra classes for them between 3.30 and 4.30pm so that whichever topic they were querulous about could be taken up. This also was done on a rotating basis so that all subjects could be given importance.  Apart from this, board questions were discussed and practiced so that children could feel confident when they would take up the preparatory exams which were to begin shortly.  Also question banks were procured and children were working out the model question papers in Math.  The first preparatory showed us where we had to work with regard to each student.  Since we have only 4 students in Girinagar and another 6 in Anandavana, we could look at each student closely and understand their strengths and weakness.  Now, after three preparatory,  I can say that our students have improved by leaps and bounds when compared to the time we started working with them.  Still we have more work to do till the last day and even during the exams.  On Monday, the 19th of March we have special prayers for our children who are going to take up the X Board exams starting from March 23rd.  We are also getting the Blessings of our Gurus on that occasion.  I pray God that our children will perform well and bring laurels to their alma mater.
