I think the challenge of integrating Indian systems of healthcare, knowledge systems like Ayurveda, with western medicines at the theoretical level is really the challenge of trying to see the relationship between the whole and the part. The very method of science is that we break-up the whole into parts, into cells, tissues and so on and so forth and then we study the changes that take place in those parts and try to deduce therefore what is happening to the whole. So, it is a different approach to study nature. We study nature in terms of parts. But here in Indian systems, we study nature in terms of whole.
