“Purnapramati – A Center for Integrated Learning” is a platform to different approaches exploring through experiences.
Purnapramati is completing its 10th Anniversary (Dashamanotsava). It’s a good time to retrospect our journey and also contemplate on future direction. The idea of Purnapramati was seeded in 2010 based on experience, explorations followed by serious pursuits in studies and research. The efforts, the time , the energy, the thoughts, the passion, the commitment put in by all the concerned people to start and grow Purnapramati is highly commendable.
As Prof D.Prahladacharya says “it’s quite possible to sow the seeds of values of life in the innocent minds of young students who, in large number every year are admitted to seek primary education. Gradually it’s also possible to introduce such a curriculum by which they would become well aware of the rich Indian knowledge heritage and feel proud of it. In relation to holistic study of Prakruti and Prana, an integrated learning as emphasised by Shri Anandateertha needs to be understood.
Prof Navajyothi Singh focussed on bridging the traditional and modern system of education. Based on this thinking Purnapramati started nurturing its seed. It started germinating with core values representing the essence of “Eternal Dharma” and is being guided by the people who can articulate and practice this in tune with contemporary social needs.
Thus successfully its stepping into its 10th year. In its journey it started with 37 children along with 10 teachers. Now reach to the height of 450 students around 50 teachers. As Purnapramati has envisioned, it has its progress. The research work in identifying manuscripts has added clarity and has brought confidence. This integrated learning has expanded the dimension of knowing reality. Expansion implies multiple lences, while reality mandates interlinkages in those domains. The Purnapramati team of people sharing common goals for larger good, with similar values, has been the driving force. The teachers are the real actors. With the guidance of hundreds of elders, friends, well-wishers and parents , Purnapramati formulated certain specification with “Sankalpa”. This was followed and blessed by one of our greatest social philosopher Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji.
Purnapramati also focused on personality development along with the organizational development. The efforts were made to ensure all members involved, play a role according to their strengths, i.e. “Swadharma” a continuous learning for all, i.e. students, teachers, parents, members and community. An renowned educationist Dr.Gururaja Karajagi helped the parents in understanding the integrated curriculum in one of his orientations.
Purnapramati knows that a strong conviction needs some more time. However Purnapramati realizes that the collaboration of parents, children, teachers is not an short term, it’s a long term process. It needs decade long Purnapramati assures and has patience and trust till the seed transforms into tree full of flowers and fruits.
